Diamond Ore is one of the most important ores in the game. This block, when mined with an Iron Pickaxe or higher (not enchanted with Silk Touch), will yield 1 Diamond normally, and up to four if the player has a Fortune enchantment on their pickaxe. Diamond Ore is very rare and usually spawns in veins of 1-8 blocks. It only occurs below level 15. Lava lakes also spawn at this level, so beware while mining. A Water Bucket is handy for crossing these. A Pickaxe made of diamonds is the only one capable of mining obsidian, but it still takes 9 seconds by default.
Trivia[]
- Emerald Ore is rarer than Diamond Ore only because it occurs in Extreme Hills Biomes only. However, in those biomes, it is more common than Diamond Ore.
- Tools made of diamonds have the second hardest durability, the first being netherite.
How to obtain[]
- Mine with an Iron Pickaxe or higher with the Silk Touch enchantment, to receive the Ore, not the item, Diamond.
- The diamond ore will break and not give any diamonds if you use any pickaxe lower than iron.
