Beachs are biomes added in the earliest versions of Minecraft. The surface cover of these biomes is mostly Sand, sometimes with Sandstone. These biomes are fairly common and spawn on almost every biome edge near an Ocean Biome. There are 3 other variations of the beach biome, the Stone Beach Biome, Gravel Beach Biome, and Cold Beach Biome
Cold BeachesCold Beach Biomes were added in the 1.7 Update. They are similar to normal beaches, but are covered with snow and surrounded by Ice, and in rare cases, Packed Ice.
Stone Beach Biomes were added around the same time as sand beaches and gravel beaches. The only difference is that instead of sand and sandstone, there is only stone.
Gravel Beach Biomes were added around the same time as sand beaches and stone beaches. The only difference is that instead of sand and sandstone, there is gravel and stone.
- Fairly small biomes, usually 10-30 blocks in width.
